The Golden Rule states that you should do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. Apparently, based on the number of people running scams, there are a lot of people out there who don’t mind getting scammed themselves.
Out in the Southwest, there’s a group called Diabetic Solutions that offer free steak dinners to people with diabetes. At the dinner, the attendees are told how their diabetes can be reversed and that their current form of treatment is killing them at worst, or leading to awful side effects, such as amputations at best.
What’s the solution to their problem? Well, of course, it’s thousands of dollars in snake oil, I mean, special (and expensive) vitamin supplementation amongst other things.
Incredibly, while these “doctors” claim special diabetes expertise, they are in fact Chiropractors. Nothing against Chiropractors, but diabetes treatments are a little out of their field of expertise. The other interesting thing about this group is that its leader has actually lost her license and is currently on trial for bilking the elderly.
Apparently, this didn’t stop her from continuing to run the scam. I guess legal bills can get expensive! You can read more about the scam in the Call 12 Investigation Report.
